While we developed templates for the bulk of our feature images, I really wanted to maintain an opportunity for full creative freedom with some of our editorial imagery. We were able to strike a great balance by developing unique styles for our special series. These were a package of articles that would be published across multiple verticals/authors on a single topic. Giving these packages their own look-and-feel ensured that they received extra attention on our website and gave created an opportunity for exciting promotional social media. For very large packages (like the below Gen Z package), the designer would create templates and guidelines for the other designers to follow so that we could work collaboratively and efficiently.
